Akosombo Dam

Completed in 1965 on the Volta River, this hydroelectric dam created Lake Volta, one of the largest artificial lakes in the world. It has been a cornerstone of Ghana’s electricity supply, powering industrial and residential sectors and enabling economic growth

Accra-Tema Motorway

Built in 1965, this was one of West Africa’s first modern highways, linking the capital Accra with the industrial hub of Tema. It facilitated efficient movement of goods and people, boosting economic activity and regional connectivity
